I was extremely busy today. By the time I got out of my meetings, I had less than 30 minutes of sunlight left to capture a shot for today’s iPhone 365 Project blog post. I drove to a location I’ve been wanting to shoot for some time and was disappointed with the light. Even so, I went ahead and shot it so I could post something for the day.
Honestly, I was not happy with the shot. Even while taking it, I was hoping I could find something at home for today’s post. But, as luck would have it, I drove face first into the sunset on the way home. My timing was perfect! I quickly grabbed my iPhone and took a couple shots of the sunset as I was merging onto southbound I-75 in downtown Detroit, Michigan. You can see some of the lights from Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, in the far right edge of the photo.
Considering I didn’t have the cleanest windshield at the time and the photo was taken with two hands on the steering wheel, I’m extremely happy with the result! It goes to show that you need to wait for optimal light for the greatest impact!
What do you think? Did I get lucky?
