Day 17: Wreath Hanging on Weathered Door

by Paul Manoian on January 17, 2010

The weather was horrible for outdoor lighting today. The sky was nothing but pure gray and had absolutely no structure to the cloud cover what-so-ever. For that matter, there were no clouds. I could easily have duplicated the effect using the fill tool in Photoshop. It was casting flat dull gray light on everything. As a result, I sought out something indoors for my iPhone 365 Project today.

I took Genevieve shopping and saw a really cool bent twig wreath hanging on a weathered wooden door in front of a store. It was made using artificial flowers, but thought it would still look cool for today’s shot. I tried a few different angles manually blocking some of the light present and decided this shot looked the best.

What do you think?
