Day 27: Saint Thomas Lutheran Church in Detroit, Michigan

by Paul Manoian on January 27, 2010

It was absolutely beautiful today!  I went outside for lunch at exactly noon and heard the bells from the tower of the Saint Thomas Lutheran Church on Gratiot Avenue in downtown Detroit, Michigan.  It is considered a historic building in Detroit and was in the parking lot immediately adjacent to my location today.

I quickly walked over and took a number of photos all the while being serenaded by the bells in the impressive tower.  The harsh light really helped bring out the texture and contrast in the cut stone wall.

First St. Joseph and now St. Thomas.  I’m really starting to love some of the fantastic architecture Detroit, Michigan has to offer!
