I believe there are three keys to a successful 365 Project:
- Always have a camera with you
- Always look for interesting light.
- Always take the shot
In my case, I felt using an iPhone for my 365 Project would provide the best opportunity for me to always grab a photo. I have it everywhere I go. In addition, I take a photo of everything I see throughout the day that catches my eye. I never say to myself that I’ll just come back later … I won’t.
By the end of the day I usually have about 15-25 photos to go through. I simply plug in my iPhone and upload the images to my 2010 folder to view in Adobe Bridge. So, I always have something I can use. Sometimes it’s of beautiful architecture, sometimes it’s an interesting perspective of an everyday object and sometimes it’s just interesting light and shadows.
Today’s iPhone 365 Project post is certainly of the latter: boring carpet. I was walking through a hallway at lunch and noticed the cool shadow pattern a metal railing made on the carpeted floor. Also, by getting down low (I sat the iPhone on the floor), I was also able to capture it from an interesting perspective that pulls the viewer into the photo.
Interesting light or boring carpet?
