Day 47: Michigan Snow Flakes

by Paul Manoian on February 16, 2010

I woke up this morning to more snow falling on the ground.  I live in Michigan, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.  However, the snowflakes were absolutely HUGE today, much larger than normal.

It was still dark, but my car’s headlights were pointed towards an evergreen bush in front of my house.  I really like the way the lights highlighted some of the freshly falling flakes.  They were absolutely beautiful!  The detail in them was incredible!!

The macro capabilities of the iPhone lens really didn’t do the giant snow flakes justice, but I like the photo nonetheless.  You can actually see the details in the arms of the snow flakes extremely well considering the conditions under which the photo was taken.  If I had had more time, I would have gone back into the house for my DLSR.
