I recently tried a batch of 32 Quantaray Power Z rechargeable AA batteries (1.6v) that featured a new NiZn formula. I have mixed feelings about them. They cycled my speedlights faster than anything else I’ve tried; however, the batteries tended to overheat and destroy themselves if worked too hard. As a result, they would no longer accept a charge.
I’m not recommending them at this point unless it was for a low power draw purpose.
So, what do you think? What’s the best rechargeable AA battery for digital photography??
