As a Detroit photographer, I have the opportunity to shoot at a number of amazing locations throughout Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan. Of course, I do a lot more than simply photograph people. Part of what I do is research and scout out incredible locations for unique sessions that I can use to match with my clients’ personalities.

A lot of hard work certainly paid off tonight when I had the opportunity to photograph Sophie. She wanted an edgy, urban session loaded with graffiti. I suggested a location I’ve wanted to use for quite some time since I felt it offered the exact look she wanted. One look at the sneak peek photos below and I think you’ll agree … this location was the perfect match for Sophie!

I still have a lot of work to do going through all the proofs, but I was so excited to review the results of tonight’s shoot I had to post a few of the photos. I’ve only started going through the proofs, but the proofs I’ve reviewed look incredible! Actor, Actress and Model Headshot Photographer

As a Detroit actor headshot and model headshot photographer, I have the opportunity to regularly work with some of Michigan’s finest up-and-coming talent. With the recent tax breaks for movie studios to shoot their productions in Michigan, there has been a dramatic increase in Michigan actors and actresses seeking parts in big screen movies. In fact, there is no better time than now to get started in movies as an actor or actress in Detroit. Similarly, modeling has also seen a recent increase in available jobs.

I have worked with people of all ages from all walks of life, but aspiring actors, actresses and models really have a way of speaking through the camera with their eyes. It is for this reason alone that I love professional model and actor headshots. Of course, with the film incentive package becoming a Michigan law last year, I am excited to able to offer professional headshots to aspiring actors and models throughout the Detroit, Michigan area.

Most recently, I had the opportunity to work with Lauren from Northville, Michigan. She was an exceptional young girl and was wonderful to work with. I know she is anxious to see her proofs, but I still have a lot to go through before they are ready to post to her private proof gallery. In the mean time, here’s one of my favorites from her headshot session. Of all the proofs, this one really speaks to me … I absolutely love it!

I’ve been having a blast photographing seniors this year for their senior portraits. Of course, Sarah was no exception! She is part of the Class of 2011 at Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan and we used one of the best locations for senior girls in southeast Michigan for her session. Seniors Photographer – South Lyon Senior Portraits

Senior portraits, senior photos and senior pictures. They may go by many names, but one thing is for sure: studio photography is “out” and on-location lifestyle photography is “in” … in a BIG way! My recent session with Caitlin from South Lyon, Michigan was no exception!!

We chose one of my favorite locations for senior portraits and, even though she had to drive for an hour to get there, I think the results speak for themselves. She was a blast to work with and her portraits are amazing.

As a professional photographer in Livonia, Michigan, I have the opportunity to regularly photograph newborns and babies of all ages. But, Baby Thatcher was possibly my youngest client at only 4 days old!

I spent some time with the family at their home in Westland, Michigan documenting his first week in his parents’ arms and hands. He is too cute for words, don’t you think?

It was a beautiful day for Ann Arbor wedding and I had the opportunity to be there and witness it first hand! Better yet, as the wedding photographer, I had the opportunity to move around to watch this amazing couple exchange vows during the ceremony!

As a Livonia photographer, I have the opportunity to work with a large number of different people throughout Metro Detroit and southeast Michigan. However, there really isn’t anything better than working with the same clients on a recurring basis!

I first had the opportunity to with Lucas last year for his 3 month portrait. Time is definitely flying by because I can’t believe he is 1 year old already! Of course, he is the same happy kid he was last year, only more animated with a broader range of expressions.

Detroit Photographer – Southeast Michigan Child Photography

I first had the opportunity to work with Miss Olivia last year when we shot a session in Northville, Michigan for the “Kids Being Kids” child photography contest. When her mom contacted me about shooting another session (Yeah!), I wanted to try something a little different. This time, we headed to a different location for a Metro Detroit photography session that is tended by a large number of master gardeners.

The grounds have a beautiful old barn along with acres of plants and flowers. Of course, the centerpiece this time of year is their huge selection of 8 foot tall rose bushes! I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many monster roses bushes in full bloom before!

I have been to this location a number of the times over the past year. Even though they have a large number of manicured plants and flowers, I have always wanted an opportunity to use the small grove of evergreen trees in a session. One of the proofs is included below. Even though she is walking away from the camera, there is “something” about it that really draws me in to the photo.

Detroit Photographer – Editorial and Model Photography

As a Detroit photographer, I am partial to working as a people photographer because it’s the people that make Detroit great. It’s the people that give Detroit it’s buzz. It’s the people.

My goal as a Detroit photographer is to create unique and artistic images of the highest quality whether they are for wedding photography, Senior pictures or editorial fashion photography. A quick look through some of my photography portfolios and you will see why my clients return again and again. Voted #1 for Best Portrait Photography in 2009, it should be no surprise that that I am regularly asked to capture corporate, model and actor headshots.

I’ve also begun collaborating on a number of editorial photography projects in the Detroit area. The most recent was for a Goldwell International submission with Stephanie and Sara. Goldwell International recently had an open call to find the most trendsetting colorists with an opportunity to demonstrate their color competence by putting their signature on international Color Zoom Challenge 2010. In addition, once announced, all national winners will be invited to participate at the international, live, hands-on competition in Paris, France – October 10-12, 2010!

The model headshot for the submission was taken on-site at One Salon in Novi, Michigan. One Salon staffs a dynamic team of stylists who are passionate about their craft. Their talent, vision, and experience have made them some of the top stylists in the country. More importantly, their drive to collaborate and match your rhythm makes their service absolutely unparalleled.
