Grant’s senior pictures session took us to the heart of Detroit on a crisp fall morning, and the light couldn’t have been better. We started early to take advantage of the golden hour glow, with soft sunlight filtering through the skyline and warm tones from the changing leaves. Grant, a senior at Romeo High School in Washington, MI, wanted a session that blended classic, urban, and natural styles. That combination shaped every stop along the way.
Our first location was Belle Isle, where fall color framed the city skyline in the background. The quiet morning and warm light set the tone for the day and gave us a natural setting before heading into the city. From there, we explored one of Detroit’s best alleyways with string lights and brick textures that brought out the urban energy Grant wanted.
We ended at Michigan Central Station, one of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks, where the architecture added the perfect contrast to the earlier park shots. In just two hours, we were able to capture an incredible mix of styles that reflect both the city and Grant’s personality.
Sessions like this are a great reminder of how much variety Detroit has to offer for senior portraits. From peaceful green spaces to striking architecture, the city provides endless options for students who want their session to stand out.
