There’s something magical about photographing a young family in the middle of real life. Toddlers zigzagging across the grass. A baby that just wants to be held. Parents doing their best to keep up while soaking it all in. That was the vibe for Joddy’s family portrait session at Greenfield Village in Dearborn.
Joddy lives in Farmington Hills and runs a successful business, but this session was all about family. Her husband, their two boys, and her in-laws were all in town, making it the perfect time for portraits. We focused mostly on Joddy’s immediate family but couldn’t pass up the chance to capture a few sweet multi-generational moments too. Sessions like these are an ideal way to celebrate grandparents being in town without losing the spotlight on the family unit.
Greenfield Village gave us a gorgeous backdrop, with its stone cottages, garden paths, and historic charm. We captured some calm, snuggly shots and plenty of playful ones. Toddlers have a way of making every photo feel like a little adventure, and this guy definitely kept us on our toes.
We wrapped it all up with ice cream on a bench, which was basically a perfect ending. There’s something about sticky fingers and messy smiles that says “family” better than anything else ever could.
If you’re in Farmington Hills or Farmington and have been thinking about updating your family portraits, take this as your sign. Whether your little ones are running wild or barely crawling, these are the moments you’ll want to look back on.
