As a Detroit headshot photographer, I have the opportunity to work with many professionals throughout southeast Michigan. Most recently, Nathan contact me to a somewhat artistic head shot session for him. He is a professional cellist and plays with a number of groups and orchestras and needed updated headshots for submitting to various places.
He indicated he wanted an urban feel with a lot of cut stonework and a not a lot of bright colors in the shots. So, we selected the Detroit Institute of Arts (The DIA) in Detroit, MI on Woodward Avenue for his session location and held the session first thing on a Saturday morning on a chilly Michigan winter day to avoid crowds and people walking through the shots. The stonework and stairs provided the perfect backdrop for his session. My favorite part of his session was when he sat down and played the Prelude to Bach’s Cello Suite 1 in G. It was absolutely beautiful. I don’t know how he isn’t performing with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra!
I know he is anxious to see his headshot proofs. They look amazing and I found it difficult to narrow them down to only a few for a preview. So, I selected some of my favorites from his session and included them below. Which one is your favorite? Please be sure to check them out and leave a comment below.
