As a Detroit photographer that covers the vibrant communities throughout Metro Detroit and southeast Michigan, I have noticed that very few of our local pastors and ministers have professional headshots. With the social media explosion over the past decade, it is becoming even more important for local churches, parishes and ministries to be able to reach the online social community concerning upcoming events. Unfortunately, so many of the promotional materials I have seen ad full of smartphone pics. While great for Instagram and Facebook, these images are far less than ideal for promoting events and conferences. That is precisely why I was so excited when Pastor Smith contacted me for professional images to use on his church’s recently updated website!

For his session, we headed to the heart of downtown Detroit and shot his images in the atrium of one of the many prominent buildings. After clearing everything the building’s owner, management company and security, we set up for session that captured some of my favorites images of the year! I still have a lot of work to do to get his online proof gallery ready, but I selected some of my favorites from his session and posted them below as a sneak peek. I absolutely love the way they turned out!
