As a Detroit photographer with over 10 years of experience working in and around the downtown area, I am blown away by the amount of growth and rebound I have personally seen in our great city! The amount of restoration and new development downtown is staggering. There has even been an increase in the number of shows that are popping up with a Detroit theme including “Detroiters” on Comedy Central featuring fledgling ad men and best friends Sam and Tim with the ambition to build a local advertising empire and “Mob Steel” on The History Channel featuring car builders.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Dan for new headshots. He owns an automotive customization shop and wanted to feature some headshot taken inside the shop to become the basis for an updated online presence. Some very strategically placed lighting allowed us to darken out the background and avoid any distracting elements in the shots without having to take them in an actual studio. The images turned out great!
