As a Detroit photographer, I love Detroit and I get excited when graduating seniors contact me to do their senior pictures session in Downtown Detroit! So many great changes have taken place in Detroit during the past ten years. Perhaps it is all of the box office hit movies filmed in Detroit? Movies like Transformers, Superman v Batman, Real Steel, 8 Mile and others have been recently filmed here. But, even the 1980’s featured “The D” on the big screen. Anyone remember the hit Beverly Hills Cop with Eddie Murphy? Those movies even featured our own Gilbert Hill as Inspector Todd. Hill was a detective for the Detroit Police Department “in real life” and even went on to become a Detroit City councilman.

So, there is no wonder people want to go Downtown more. It is truly becoming a destination for senior pictures sessions as well while fewer and fewer students are opting to use their school’s contracted yearbook vendor for a lame indoor session. My senior pictures session with Chase in downtown Detroit. He absolutely wanted to do her session outdoors and not indoors at the studio and the results from the locations we selected speak for themselves. His portraits are amazing – I absolutely love them! I’ve been going through the proofs and they look incredible. I seriously had a hard time only selecting a few for his sneak peek post, but here are some of my personal favorites.
