I recently had the opportunity to work with Haley for a model photography session in Metro Detroit, Michigan. We did a number of mini photo shoots throughout the day with different outfits and lighting setups.
Some of my favorite model photography shots were taken early in the day while we were still tweaking the lighting setup before the final hair and makeup was completed by the hair stylists and makeup artists on hand for the session. They have a certain character to them that is hard to describe, but I believe it was largely due to the fact that they were taken under no pressure to the amazing model whatsoever.
I kept the lighting simple with a key light on Haley in combination with with a side fill light adjusted way down to help provide some texture. I also had a couple of lights on the background to illuminate it without overexposing it and making it pure white as I would have done for a high key headshot. The end result of the photo series is very simple and it really allows the model’s personality to shine through with flying colors!
She was a beautiful model to work with and her joy during the sessions really comes to the forefront. I posted a couple of my model photos with Haley below and you can really see her professional exuberance in them.
