As a Detroit model photographer, I have the opportunity to work with large number of established as well as up-and-coming models throughout Metro Detroit and southeast Michigan. From comp cards (Zed Cards) to head shots, I really enjoy helping models branch out and expand their portfolios. But, what I like most, is the ability to collaborate with a group of talented individuals to create something special that will truly stand out in a model portfolio.

It absolutely essentially to work with a great team to capture great images. It is not possible for one person to pull off everything. From hair to makeup to wardrobe to accessories, everything is a specialty and requires a specialist. That’s why the shots below are from one of my favorite studio sessions this fall. Simply put, I worked with a GREAT team of hair and makeup artists to deliver magazine-quality images with eye-catching results!

Professional model headshots are the single largest factor used when agencies decide whom to call and whom to skip over. Professional headshots for models help these agencies place their talent with production directors. With all of the recent legislation in Michigan creating major tax incentives for production companies to produce content in Detroit and throughout the state, having high quality model headshots for Michigan models is becoming more important by the day.

But, don’t let anyone tell you that becoming an model is easy and all you need is a decent headshot. That simply isn’t true! A lot of long, hard work goes into the process. However, having a solid base of professional model marketing materials (e.g. Model Comp Card, Portfolio, etc) will help give you a leg up over the other aspiring models trying out for the same opportunity.
