As a Detroit photographer, I have the opportunity to work with a lot of models, actors and industry professional for commercial and portfolio building photo shoots. One of the most important things to I’ve learned with actors and models is to never judge the amount of talent by the size of the package. This is essential when working with a child actor and model.

If you are looking for headshots for kids, there are a few things to know. Kids headshots need to be updated about every six months. If they are very young (under 5), you may want to consider updating them even more often since their appearance changes so quickly. This can get quite costly which is why we provide a discount for coming back for updated images within six months. There are a few other photographers that do the same nationally

Child Actor and Model Headshot Tip: It is important to remember that acting and modeling are not the same thing as pageants and the head shots should not be “glam”. You don’t want poofy pageant dresses nor anything too cute and frilly unless your agent is specifically requesting it for a certain casting.
