As a Metro Detroit photographer, I work with high school seniors all over southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio for their senior pictures each year. It always amazes me how far students will travel for their session, but they have a great reason. They want an incredible senior pictures session and second best won’t do!

I recently had the opportunity to work with Mitchell, a senior at Hartland High School, for his senior portraits. For his session, we headed to one of my favorite locations for senior pictures and captured some great images that I am sure he and his family will love! The location selections had a great rustic and farm feel to them that truly provided us with ample opportunity to capture Mitchell at his best. I selected some of the favorites so far from his senior portraits session for a sneak peek and included them below. Which one is your favorite?

Guys will always be guys and usually do not enjoy having their picture taken. But, my approach is to keep them strong in their element. No fancy poses. No gimmicky pep talks. Just allow them to be themselves and capture the smiles.
