As a Michigan child model photographer, I have the opportunity to work some a large number of great kids throughout Metro Detroit and southeast Michigan and I have learned to never judge the amount of talent by the size of the package. This could not have been more true than during a recent child model headshots session with Lynzi.
I absolutely love the images from Lynzi’s recent headshot session! They are adorable and perfectly capture her energy and enthusiasm. I am finishing up her 200+ proofs for her private viewing gallery and still have a little of work to get them ready for her parents. In the mean time, I selected six of my favorites so far and included them below as a sneak peek. The best part is that she has not been Photoshop’ed in any of them! She is perfect exactly as is which is how it should be for all child model and actor sessions. There is absolutely no reason to Photoshop kids unless it is for the purpose of covering up a fresh scrape or other boo boo. After all, kids will be kids!
Child Model and Actor Headshot Tip: Child acting and modeling portfolios and comp cards should not be filled with “glam” pageant shots. They need to be natural! Casting directors and agencies need to see who the child really is in the image and their personality needs to be in the forefront.
If you are searching Michigan for an experience child model photographer, I would love the opportunity to work with you! Please feel free to call me at 313-883-9500 or contact me online to discuss available dates and locations. I cannot wait to hear from you!
Don’t forget that child model and actor headshots need to be updated about every six months. If they are on the young side (i.e. under 5), you may even want to consider updating them more frequently since their appearance will rapidly change and their portfolio needs to remain current. This can obviously become costly which is why we provide a discount for coming back for updated images within six months.
