As a Detroit Model Photographer, I have the incredible opportunity to work many established as well as up-and-coming models. One thing is in common – they all understand the importance of having a portfolio filled with current images regardless of the amount of professional experience they have. In addition, they all demand attention to the details when any retouching is applied to their images. This is why we stress the importance of only removing temporary blemishes when model (and especially actor) images are retouched. Casting Directors need to rely on submitted images to know what models and actors actually look like and not an artist’s airbrushed interpretation. Completely smoothing skin over to remove pores is an absolutely no-no.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Crystal for her first professional photo shoot to begin building a model portfolio. The incredible Melissa Keryn was on-hand for makeup and hair styling and helped ensure Crystal remained looking natural in eat of the shots.
