Senior pictures with horses are definitely some of my favorite sessions with graduating seniors each year. Every senior with a horse wants at least a few horse senior pictures in their session. They may be powerful animals but they are so much more than just props to our seniors. The relationships between seniors and their horses are absolutely incredible and you can definitely see a bond on both sides. Horse pictures are usually the funnest part of our senior sessions.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Taylor for her senior portraits with a horse. We hit the equestrian center early in the morning and were just in time to capture the golden morning sunlight as it peeked over the tree tops and shined into the stables. I selected some of my favorite images from her session and included them below as a sneak peek. Which one is your favorite?

If you are graduating senior and interested in having your senior pictures taken with your horse, I would love to hear from you! For your session, even if you don’t have a custom saddle, I definitely recommend a nice leather halter, noseband and a show shank if possible. Plus, you will definitely want multiple outfits to provide great variety for your session.
