As a Detroit photographer, I love Detroit and I get excited when graduating seniors contact me to do their senior pictures session in Downtown Detroit! So many great changes have taken place in Detroit during the past ten years. Perhaps it is all of the box office hit movies filmed in Detroit? Movies like Transformers, Superman v Batman, Real Steel, 8 Mile and others have been recently filmed here. But, even the 1980’s featured “The D” on the big screen. Anyone remember the hit Beverly Hills Cop with Eddie Murphy? Those movies even featured our own Gilbert Hill as Inspector Todd. Hill was a detective for the Detroit Police Department “in real life” and even went on to become a Detroit City councilman.

So, there is no wonder people want to go Downtown more. It is truly becoming a destination for senior pictures sessions as well while fewer and fewer students are opting to use their school’s contracted yearbook vendor for a lame indoor session.

Recently, Sarah wanted an edgy, urban setting for her senior pictures and Downtown delivered! She specifically wanted to incorporate graffiti, so we selected some fantastic spots for her.
