I love these images! As a Detroit model photographer, I have the opportunity to work with some amazing talent and this particular photo shoot was definitely one of my favorites.

This was a “Dark Beauty” concept editorial photo shoot for a magazine. Along with the actual images, we filmed behind the scenes footage that was later edited into a behind the scenes video showing some of the equipment setup as well as some of the post processing techniques used to create the final images.

I created custom lighting involving gell-colored lights to get the “dark” effect shown in the final images against the deep blue background. This allowed the creative team to ultimately work with a slightly Gothic look.

The final images turned out absolutely stunning as they truly captured the look and feel we were going for. There simply is no denying the dramatic lighting really draws in viewers. They will definitely look great in Kelsey’s modeling portfolio!
