As a Detroit film audition acting headshots photographer, I have the incredible opportunity to work with some of the best acting talent in Detroit and the surrounding metropolitan area.Over the years, one of the most important things to I’ve learned with actors and models is to never judge the amount of talent by the size of the package. This is absolutely essential when working with a child actor. Just like their full-size acting counterparts, a GREAT headshot is a MUST!
There are a lot of items that work together to make a great kids acting head shot. Here are my Top 3 Tips to consider based on our experience in providing professional child actor head shots:
- MAINSTREAM – Your look should be considered mainstream to help ensure it appeals to as many people as possible.
- PROFESSIONAL – You are a professional and your headshot must match suit. There can’t be anything amateurish about it.
- STYLE – Your overall look should be properly styled. This is not the time to bring your favorite look from a decade ago.
The formula is simple: MAINSTREAM + PROFESSIONAL + STYLE = GREAT HEADSHOT! It really is as simple as that! But, you may find that it is not that easy to put together the best pieces into a cohesive look.
Kids Acting Headshots Tip: Kids film audition acting head shots should be updated approximately every six months. If kids are still very young (under 5), you may want to consider updating them more often than that since their appearance changes so quickly. The last thing you want to do is submit a headshot to a casting director that no longer looks like the child in person!
