As a professional headshot photographer, I am blessed to be able to work so many talented kids throughout the Motor City. Over the years, one of the most important things to I’ve learned with youth actors is to never judge the amount of talent by the size of the package. But, one thing remains the same and it doesn’t matter if it’s for stage or film acting, a GREAT headshot is an absolute MUST!

I had the opportunity to shoot Alec’s youth theatre acting headshots a while back for a role in a musical at Farmington Players (aka The Barn) in Farmington Hills, MI. But, now he had a role as Hamlet at Motor City Youth Theatre in Livonia, MI. We used quickly used the stage to our advantage during Tech Week and captured a great solo moment in the full glory of the stage lights. Wow! The end result image is simply amazing and shows the importance of having stage images in an actor’s portfolio. That image is now hanging in his home as a gorgeous gallery wrap!

Youth Theatre Headshots Tip: Kids head shots need to be updated about every six months. If they are very young (under 5), you may want to consider updating them even more often since their appearance changes so quickly. This can get quite costly which is why we provide a discount for coming back for updated images within six months. There are a few other photographers that do the same nationally.
