One of the questions I hear from parents all the time is, “Can we fit more than one location into a senior pictures session?”
The answer is absolutely yes.
Nevaeh had two very different ideas for her senior pictures. She loved the soft, natural look of wildflower fields, but she had also fallen in love with the stone cottage and windmill at Greenfield Village. Instead of choosing one or the other, we planned the morning so she could have both.
That little bit of planning made all the difference.
We met just after sunrise while the wildflowers were glowing in the morning light. If you’ve ever been outside early on a summer morning, you know there’s something special about it. The light is soft, the air is cooler, and everything feels calm before the day gets busy. It was the perfect setting for the first part of Nevaeh’s session.
Watching her walk through the flowers with the sun just starting to peek through the trees felt almost like stepping into a storybook. Some of my favorite images from the morning came from those first few minutes in the field. They have a simple, timeless feel that I know her family will enjoy looking back on for years.
Once we finished in the wildflowers, we headed to Greenfield Village.
Timing it this way meant we arrived right as the gates opened. Instead of working around crowds, we were able to enjoy some of the village’s most beautiful areas while they were still quiet.
The windmill and stone cottage were at the top of Nevaeh’s wish list, and it’s easy to see why. The weathered stone, charming windows, and colorful gardens create a look that’s hard to find anywhere else in Michigan. Those portraits have such a classic feel, especially paired with her pink floral dress.
The windmill is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Greenfield Village. It gave us a completely different look from the cottage while keeping the historic character that makes the village so unique.
One of the things I enjoyed most about this session was how naturally everything came together. Even though we photographed in two completely different settings, the gallery still feels connected. The soft colors, beautiful gardens, historic architecture, and early morning light all complement each other perfectly.
Sessions like this are a great reminder that you don’t have to limit yourself to a single location. With a little planning, it’s possible to create a gallery with incredible variety while keeping the day relaxed and enjoyable.
If you’re looking for South Lyon senior pictures, don’t feel like you have to stay close to home or settle for just one backdrop. Your senior pictures should reflect your personality, your style, and the places that inspire you. Sometimes that means a field of wildflowers. Sometimes it means the timeless beauty of Greenfield Village. And sometimes, like Nevaeh’s session, it means enjoying both.

Paul Was Great to Work With
Paul was great to work with for my daughter’s senior photos. We did the 4 hour package with 2 locations. Paul offered outfit advice on the day of the photos, he kept track of timing to ensure we had enough time for all the photos and outfit changes we wanted. Paul made my daughter feel comfortable. He even had a pop up tent so my daughter could change. We are very pleased with our choice to have Paul do our senior’s photos.
