As a Michigan photographer and a Detroit area native, one of my favorite places for senior pictures in southeast Michigan is definitely Detroit! Sure, it has graffiti and urban decay which has become quite popular for senior portraits the last couple of year. But, it was an incredibly rich selection of architecture!

It is true that the only thing constant is change when it comes to senior portraits- they definitely are not what they used to be. There is no longer a valid reason to settle to have your session done in a boring studio with cheesy letters spelling S-E-N-I-O-R. Graduating seniors now have a choice on what they want for their senior portraits. More of more students choosing to love their senior portraits with an outdoor, on-location lifestyle senior session. They are realizing that Lifestyle Senior Photography has evolved far beyond what studio props and “green screens”. The options are limitless!

Earlier this morning, I had the opportunity to work with Alyssa, a Class of 2014 senior, for her senior portraits. We held her entire session in Downtown Detroit and I absolutely love what I have seen of her proofs so far. I still have tons of work to do to finish going through everything in preparation of posting them to her proof gallery, but I know she is very anxious to see them.
