This behind the scenes photo shoot video captures the creative team involved in a Detroit fashion shoot in action. The goal was to capture fashion from the 1930’s with an updated twist for a style and fashion magazine.
It was an extremely cold and windy morning so the Creative Team utilized the RV to stay warm and comfortable during the day. This was very important to the success of the shoot since the weather forecast called for 30-50 mph wind gusts.
The shoot included 2 models, 3 different locations and over 6 different styled looks; although, only 6 are included in the behind the scenes video. The shoot was held at a historic location in Metro Detroit and featured a 1931 Ford Model A in most of the images.
The first series of images were done on a dirt road with the models posing and interacting with the scene in different ways. These images really set the stage for the remainder of the fashion shoot. For the second series of images, we moved to a new location and added a historic home and large tree into the background for variety. Finally, for the third series of images, we moved to the porch of a historic home and had the models just work the lens.
We only shot images for approximately 3 hours. Even so, it was a 9 hour day for many members of the Creative Team when you factor in the time required to pick up the RV, heat it up before everyone was on site, set up all of the equipment, tear down and put the RV back into storage.
There is absolutely no way I could have done this shoot by myself, and I am incredibly fortunate to have the backing of such a talented and dedicated team! They are world class!
