As a photographer that regularly photographs weddings and portrait sessions throughout Northville, Michigan and the Metro Detroit region, I have the opportunity to work with incredible people. Some of them have an amazing talent; some of them simply ooze personality. I was going through of my recent Northville photography sessions this past week and was reminded of one such girl. From the moment she stepped in front of my lens, she was “on”. Her personality was huge for such a tiny body and every shot seemed to capture pure joy.
In was starting to get late in the day and the setting sun was casting an incredibly warm glow through the trees. As a photographer, I recognized the opportunity and quickly had her stand along a white picket fence where the sun could present itself as a nice, warm backlight through the haze.
This was one of our final photos from the session and it is absolutely amazing. Many people that have seen it call it captivating while others claim it seems to speak volumes.
It is moments like this that I feel truly blessed to be recognized as a leading Northville photographer. I especially love planning the photography sessions with my clients. Many of them already have a certain look in mind for their session and become the Creative Director while I become the Director and Producer. But, it really doesn’t matter if they have experience in front of a professional lens, my goal is always the same. Whether I am shooting a session in Northville, Ann Arbor, Dearborn or Detroit, I am constantly looking for the a-ha moment where the sun casts the perfect light.
