As you can likely tell, I run my website using the WordPress content management system (CMS). I have done tons of research of plugins and code modifications to alter the site to do exactly what I want. Of course, this is a work in progress and I am always finding new tools with improved functionality that I want to switch to. When I find something that truly works, I like to share it so others may benefit.
Mostly recently, I had a specific need to recategorize my blog posts. This in itself is not a big deal. The WordPress administration area will allow you to change post categories. But, what if you have hundreds of posts that you want to redo without it taking all afternoon? That’s where the Batch Cat plugin by Lenin Lee comes in!
Batch Cat allows you to quickly search through your posts, select the posts you want to modify and completely reset the categories for all the posts at once! What would have taken me hours literally required less than 5 minutes including the time to install the plugin!
The main features are:
- Assign the selected categories to posts.
- Append the selected categories to posts.
- Delete the selected categories from posts.
- Configurable number of posts listed in one page.
