I recently had the opportunity to pull together the Creative Team for a 1920s and 1930s inspired fashion magazine photo shoot. We worked with a stylist to pull together authentic fashion from the 1920’s and 1930’s with an updated twist for a style and fashion magazine. We also shot a complete behind the scenes video capturing the Creative Team in action!
This was a 9 hour day for many of the Creative Team members even though the actual shoot only lasted about 3 hours. That’s a long time to be outside in the cold, so we utilized the RV to stay warm and comfortable throughout the day for the hair, makeup and wardrobe changes. The biggest challenge we faced wasn’t the cold, it was actually the wind! We had to deal with occasional 30-50 mile per hour wind gusts so keeping our large soft box on the ground was a challenge that essentially required an assistant to hold.
The shoot included 2 models, 3 locations and 8 different styled looks; six of which you can see in the behind the scenes video. We shot and filmed the entire shoot on location in Metro Detroit.
There is absolutely no way I could have done this shoot by myself, and I am incredibly fortunate to have the backing of such a talented and dedicated team! If you are pulling together an editorial project, I would love to talk with you about the film and video capabilities of the Creative Team!
