As a Detroit photographer, I love each opportunity I have to work on commercial portrait and lifestyle editorial projects for magazines. I love it even more when the publications and stories are focused on delivering inspirational messages!

I was recently contacted to photograph Julie and her 88-year-young mother for Health Monitor magazine. Julie had made the decision to hold off on hospice case for her ailing mother once she learned her mother was a candidate for a new procedure called Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). Barbara was Barbara was soon able to move around her house, fix something to eat, do some light housekeeping and make the rounds with her holiday greens. Best of all, says Julie, “Our family has been able to celebrate three more years with my mom!”

“Every day is a miracle!”

It is an incredibly heart warming story and is a great example of what is possible. It is a fantastic reminder to not give up and to continually look for answers even in the face of adversity.
